Brooks Brothers 70s/80s Oxford Cloth Button Down Fun Shirt

Vintage Brooks Brothers Button Down 

 

We've never seen a vintage fun shirt in Oxford cloth like this, completely original and one-off.

 

Decades ago, tailors would learn their craft by sewing together shirts made from fabric offcuts. Over time, a staple of playful preppy style evolved from the practice: 'the fun shirt'.  

 

Unlike the traditional fun shirts, this version does not combine striped patterns from poplin cut-offs, but is cut from the same oxford cloth.

 

Made in Hong Kong from the late 70s/ early 80s

 

Overall in fantastic vintage condition with some signs of wear and age related marks.
