USN AN 6551 Tropical Flight Jacket

 

The USN AN 6551 flying jacket was designed for tropical conditions and was crafted from a single layer of tightly woven, khaki-colored cotton. Designed in the 1940s it underwent slight modifications in the immediate postwar period, leading to a reclassification and remained in active service well into the late 1950s, and some continued to be worn into the 1960s.

Extremly rare to find in such good condition, there are some signs of wear and age related marks, all buttons and zipper are present and correct – Including the original inside pocket label.
