USN N-1 Deck Jacket 

 

"The N1 deck jacket was developed in late 1943, built on the experience and lessons learned of the early war years. Made from a hard-wearing cotton ‘jungle cloth’ outer-shell and a warm alpaca lining."

 

"The original colour was a deep navy blue. However that was short lived and was quickly replaced by a light olive drab /khaki around 1945. Other than the colour change, the N1 remained virtually the same from the end of World War II, through the Korean War and into the 1960s, when it was replaced by the A2 Deck Jacket.

Overall this jacket is in incredible condition considering it is over 70 years old. As you would expect there are plenty of age related marks and a few repiars through out. The Alpaca linning is in great condition with minor bald spots. The original zip works very well and the knitted cuffs are intact.
